Data Scientist
Explicitly mentions and leverages 'semantic vibe coding' to extract patterns and efficiencies from data.
About the Role
Elder Research is hiring a Data Scientist to design, implement, and evaluate statistical and AI/ML solutions that extract actionable insights and improve product safety decision-making for an AI-powered Sentinel model. The role focuses on semantic analysis, model interpretability, and deploying scalable solutions in cloud environments (Azure) to accelerate interventions and protect consumers.
Job Description
Role
Elder Research seeks a Data Scientist to contribute to the design and implementation of advanced statistical and AI/ML solutions for product safety. The role centers on using semantic analysis and machine learning to extract insights from structured and unstructured data, evaluate model performance, and support an AI-powered Sentinel model that reduces time to intervention.
Key Responsibilities
- Leverage semantic “vibe coding” efficiencies to uncover patterns and thematic insights from structured and unstructured data.
- Translate complex datasets into clear, actionable narratives through data storytelling and visualization.
- Design, implement, and maintain AI techniques (e.g., product similarity) and predictive models for anomaly detection, classification, regression, and pattern recognition.
- Perform rigorous model evaluation using metrics such as precision, recall, F1-score, and AUC to ensure reliability and fairness.
- Explore emerging technologies and novel methodologies to improve innovation and efficiency in model development and deployment.
- Use modern tools and workflows (e.g., GitHub Copilot, automated pipelines, CI/CD) to streamline development and deployment in scalable cloud environments (Azure).
- Collaborate in Agile teams, use Git-based version control, and communicate results through dashboards and visualizations.
Requirements
- Minimum 3+ years designing, developing, and deploying statistical and AI/ML models, including regression, classification, NLP, and other predictive analytics approaches.
- Hands-on Python experience with libraries such as Pandas and Scikit-learn; experience with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- 3+ years working in cloud environments (Azure); certifications are a plus.
- 2+ years using SQL for data querying and manipulation.
- Proficiency with dashboard/visualization tools (Power BI or equivalent) and experience integrating semantic coding techniques into ML workflows.
- Strong oral and written communication for data storytelling; experience with Git-based version control and collaborative development.
- Effective contributor in Agile teams, supporting iterative development and continuous improvement.
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. or equivalent professional experience in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field.
Clearance & Citizenship
- Current Public Trust desired. Candidate must be a U.S. citizen and able to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance prior to starting.
Tools & Environment (explicitly mentioned)
- Python, Pandas, Scikit-learn, PyTorch, TensorFlow, SQL, Power BI, Azure, GitHub Copilot, Git, CI/CD
