Role
Springer Nature seeks a Salesforce Development Consultant to join a 15-member Salesforce team within GBS. The consultant will design, develop, and maintain Salesforce Sales Cloud and CPQ+ solutions, translate business requirements into scalable implementations, and participate in deployment and DevOps practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and maintain solutions on Salesforce Sales Cloud and CPQ+.
- Implement Apex classes, triggers, Lightning Web Components (LWC), Aura components, and Visualforce where required.
- Work on integrations using Salesforce APIs, Named Credentials, and external services.
- Participate in CI/CD pipelines and deployment activities (GitHub, Copado optional).
- Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders; lead solution discussions and gain buy-in through facilitation and persuasion.
- Follow agile processes (Scrum/Kanban), pair programming, code reviews, and continuous improvement practices.
- Refactor existing implementations, apply best practices, and allocate ~10% of time to innovation and exploratory topics.

Onboarding / 3–12 Month Expectations
- 0–3 months: Learn the Salesforce instances, join agile ceremonies, and handle small requirements with limited guidance.
- 3–6 months: Actively contribute to development/support projects, discuss requirements with stakeholders, and support deployments.
- 6–12 months: Independently handle developments, translate high-level requirements into deliverables, refactor code, and pursue innovation time.
Requirements
- 3–5 years of hands-on technical development/programming experience with Salesforce.
- Strong experience with Apex, LWC, Aura components, Visualforce, and SOQL/SOSL.
- In-depth understanding of SFDC Profiles/Roles, Sharing Rules, Validation Rules, Process Builder/Flow Designer, and triggers.
- Experience with Lightning components and Lightning Design System; familiarity with Apex enterprise patterns (fflib) is a plus.
- Familiarity with Einstein capabilities (Prompt Builder, Agentforce) is a plus.
- Good communicator, team player, strong problem-solving skills, and ability to translate business needs into technical solutions.
- Preferred certifications: Administrator, Advanced Admin, Sales Cloud, App Builder, Development I/II, Copado Certified Administrator.
