AST SpaceMobile is hiring a DevOps Intern to support DevOps activities and full‑stack internal tooling across integration and automation functions. The intern will help manage cloud infrastructure, design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, automate deployments, containerize workloads, and develop internal dashboards and tools to support cross‑functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain Windows and Linux server environments (Windows Server 2016/2019, Windows 11, Ubuntu 22.04, RHEL).
- Own and operate AWS services (EC2, S3, RDS, ALB/NLB, VPC, Route 53, CloudWatch, SNS) and security/management services (IAM, CloudFront, Systems Manager, Secrets Manager, KMS, GuardDuty, CloudTrail).
- Manage container platforms and orchestration (Docker, AWS ECS, ECR, EKS, Kubernetes) and serverless workloads (Lambda).
- Implement Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation; work with cloud governance platforms such as Scalr.
- Design, set up, and maintain CI/CD pipelines using GitLab and Azure DevOps; use Git for version control.
- Write automation and scripting in Python, Bash, and PowerShell to support deployments and tooling.
- Monitor systems and applications using Grafana and CloudWatch; build alerts and dashboards for system health.
- Develop internal full‑stack tools and dashboards using HTML, CSS, React JS for front end and Python backends integrated with PostgreSQL.
- Apply AI‑assisted / vibe coding practices to accelerate prototyping and development of internal tooling.
Qualifications
- Proficiency with AWS services and cloud infrastructure components (EC2, S3, RDS, VPC, Route 53, EKS, ECS).
- Experience with infrastructure automation tools (Terraform, CloudFormation, Scalr).
- Solid scripting skills in Python, Bash, and PowerShell.
- Experience with Git and CI/CD tools such as GitLab and Azure DevOps.
- Hands‑on experience with Docker and container orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Full‑stack development experience (HTML, CSS, React JS) and backend development in Python.
- Working knowledge of PostgreSQL or similar relational databases; familiarity with both relational and non‑relational databases.
- Familiarity with monitoring tools such as Grafana and AWS CloudWatch.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills; ability to collaborate in cross‑functional teams and follow Agile processes.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in a technology or related field required.
- Master’s degree in computer science or related field preferred.

- Ability to work in a standard office environment and use a computer for extended periods.
