Director, Enterprise Architecture – AI Innovation
Explicitly calls for vibe/spec coding and agent-assisted development; heavy use of AI agents and copilot-enabled IDEs for rapid prototyping and architecture work.
About the Role
Lead Choice Hotels' Enterprise Architecture team to modernize architecture practices for the age of AI by building an agent-queryable living map of systems and capabilities, driving application rationalization and cloud/SaaS reference architectures, and accelerating outcomes through hands-on POCs and agent-assisted development. The role combines enterprise architecture leadership, cloud fluency, financial portfolio strategy, and practical AI-enabled prototyping.
Job Description
Role
Director, Enterprise Architecture – AI Innovation will lead “Architecture 2.0” to modernize enterprise architecture using AI, agent-assisted workflows, and living capability maps. The role focuses on translating business outcomes into capability-based roadmaps, driving application rationalization and reference architectures across cloud and SaaS platforms, and delivering hands-on proofs of concept that graduate into pilots and scaled solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Redefine EA standard work using AI tools so architects focus on strategy, outcomes, and storytelling.
- Create and maintain a living system/application capability map (dependencies, integrations, SLAs) that AI agents can query.
- Drive portfolio strategy and application rationalization with attention to innovation, risk, and total cost of ownership (TCO).
- Define and govern reference architectures across cloud (AWS/Azure/GCP), SaaS (Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow), data, and integration platforms.
- Partner with product, platform, security, and finance to translate business outcomes into capability-based roadmaps and investment proposals.
- Lead hands‑on validation via POCs using vibe/spec coding and agent-assisted development; transition successful POCs into pilots and scale-ups.
- Evolve the SDLC into AI-Driven Lifecycle practices with copilots and agents; deploy task-specific and orchestration agents to automate repetitive work and surface decision-ready insights.
- Coach and develop architecture talent in business architecture, application design, data/AI, and persuasive storytelling.
- Communicate architectural vision in business terms and align stakeholders through concise narratives and visuals.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; Master’s preferred or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of enterprise/solution architecture leadership with demonstrable impact on transformation and modernization.
- Deep expertise in Enterprise Architecture, cloud architectures, AI, and enterprise SaaS ecosystems.
- Hands-on experience with modern cloud architectures (AWS, Azure, GCP), SaaS platforms (Salesforce, Workday, ServiceNow), and integration patterns.
- Regular use of AI tools for discovery, dependency mapping, diagramming, documentation, scenario analysis, and executive storytelling.
- Experience leveraging AI-assisted architecture tools for dependency mapping and model generation; familiarity with digital twin modeling and data-driven design.
- Design and operate agent-based workflows (task agents, research agents, orchestration agents) across the architecture lifecycle.
- Comfortable working in agent-based IDEs such as VS Code, Kiro, Cursor, Windsurf, Claude Code, or Cline to pair-program with copilots/agents and automate spec/vibe tasks.
- Strong capability mapping, governance, application strategy, and ability to articulate technology in business-value terms.
What Sets You Apart
- Proven ability to lead strategic transformation and modernize technology landscapes.
- Demonstrated track record of pioneering AI and agent-based tools to accelerate architecture analysis and decision-making.
- Strong financial and portfolio acumen with a focus on TCO and investment prioritization.
- Excellent persuasive communication and executive storytelling skills.
