Role
The Director, MarTech AI Product Strategy & Program Management will define the long-term vision and 2–3-year roadmap for AI and agentic marketing capabilities within American Express’ MarTech organization. This role partners across Product Development, Marketing, and Technology to prioritize AI use cases, evaluate vendor solutions, and drive enterprise adoption and governance.
Key Responsibilities
- Define AI strategy for marketing technology and develop a 2–3-year roadmap aligned to enterprise priorities
- Partner with Product Development, Marketing, and Technology to identify, validate, and prioritize high-impact AI use cases across the marketing ecosystem (including LLM agents and vibe coding)
- Evaluate and recommend AI capabilities and vendor solutions; lead due diligence and governance for onboarding partners
- Lead financial modeling to size use case impact and track value realization and performance metrics
- Build and run training and enablement programs to drive AI fluency and adoption across the organization
- Lead change management and new ways of working associated with AI adoption
- Drive cross-functional collaboration with Marketing, Technology, Risk, Legal, and Compliance to ensure scalable, compliant solutions
- Monitor external trends in AI, GenAI, and marketing innovation to inform strategy and roadmap decisions
Minimum Qualifications
- 5–7 years in management consulting, strategy, or innovation roles with exposure to marketing technology
- Strategic, big-picture thinker with deep understanding of AI, GenAI, and marketing technology ecosystems
- Proven experience translating emerging technologies into practical applications and business value
- Strong business acumen and creativity in identifying opportunities for new capabilities, tools, or experiences
- Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional transformation and balance strategic vision with operational rigor
- Strong stakeholder management and consultative skills with experience influencing senior leaders
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and apply structured, data-driven thinking
- Excellent oral and written communication skills; ability to simplify complex concepts and bridge business and technical conversations
Preferred Qualifications
- 3–4 years of people leadership experience
- Comfortable working under tight deadlines and making decisions with imperfect information
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $144,250 to $256,250 annually (plus bonus, equity if applicable, and benefits)
