Job Description
Role
Director-level Technical Program Manager for Pinner Journeys & Belonging. Lead a team of senior TPMs and individual contributors to define strategy, coordinate cross-organizational programs, and deliver coherent end-to-end Core experiences that impact company-level OKRs.
Key Responsibilities
- Own strategy and vision for the Pinner Journeys & Belonging function and provide thought leadership across business and potential regulatory areas.
- Lead cross-org, large-scope programs connecting Core, M10n, and Platforms; stitch together personalization, search, assistant, and other systems into coherent user journeys.
- Drive resource planning and alignment across multiple organizational units; engage executive leadership to prioritize and allocate resources.
- Establish tracking mechanisms and accountability for program progression; shape top-line metrics as the north-star for journey quality.
- Lead UX Quality agenda across journeys, integrating accessibility, inclusive product practices, and wellbeing as P0 responsibilities.
- Champion experimentation practices: define schemas/workflows, launch/guardrail standards, and build automation (scripts, dashboards, anomaly/holdout reports, launch reviews) so experimentation is the single source of truth.
- Follow Pinterest AI guidance: manage sensitive data, validate AI outputs, document assumptions/limits, and ensure AI-assisted workflows meet policy and compliance expectations.
- Build durable, low-toil program mechanisms by applying GenAI for planning, operations, and stakeholder communications; create lightweight scripts/tools and dashboards where appropriate.
- Identify and develop successors for key roles; foster a culture of constructive feedback and equitable development.
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience as a technical program manager or related experience leading multiple company-level programs impacting multiple OKRs.
- 2-5+ years of management experience leading teams of senior managers and ICs.
- BS in Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent work experience.
- Demonstrated expertise with experimentation platforms (internal or external), including shaping schemas, workflows, automation, and analytics (e.g., Python/SQL scripts, dashboards, anomaly/holdout reports).
- Strong executive engagement, polished communication, and strategic decision-making skills; ability to make trade-offs on behalf of the organization.
- AI-first execution mindset with experience using GenAI to accelerate planning and program operations while applying judgment to validate and refine outputs.
- Experience in workflow design, turning repeatable program work into durable mechanisms, and improving decision-making via data and AI (strong prompting, lightweight scripting, dashboards, agents where appropriate).
- Safety-by-design AI fluency: experience with risk assessment, data handling, model/output validation, and auditability/traceability.
Location & Work Model
- Role can be situated anywhere in the country; requires in-person collaboration 1-2 times every 6 months.
- Position is not eligible for relocation assistance.
Note on Interviewing and AI
- Pinterest emphasizes AI as part of the product and recruiting process; candidates should be prepared to discuss foundational skills alongside how they collaborate with AI.
