Role
SSOE is seeking an Onsite Electrical Designer to develop electrical design drawings and technical documentation for semiconductor tool installations, power distribution, cleanroom modifications, and facility upgrades. The position focuses on low- to medium-voltage electrical design and requires close collaboration with engineers, project managers, and multidisciplinary teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for tool hookup design, subfab rack and lateral design, and facility modification support.
- Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing accounting for loads and environmental variables.
- Assess cable tray fills to ensure proper cable management and scalability.
- Perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations to size protective devices and verify system stability.
- Ensure designs comply with applicable local, state, and national electrical codes and regulations.
- Apply established electrical design techniques (load flow analysis, fault current calculations) and follow company design standards and best practices.
- Coordinate and collaborate with Designers, Senior Engineers, Project Managers, and other discipline teams (Mechanical, Structural, Process/Chemical, Architectural).
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate degree in engineering or architectural fields preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD is required.
- Experience producing power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans, and construction documents.
- Proficient interpreting one-line diagrams and collaborating within multidisciplinary project teams.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA).
- Experience or familiarity with short-circuit analysis, voltage drop calculations, conduit/conductor sizing, and cable tray fill assessments.

Location & Work Type
- This is an onsite role based in the North Phoenix, AZ area. Remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
Compensation
- Salary range: $50,000 - $100,000 per year (range provided in posting; actual pay depends on location, education, experience, and certifications).
