Role
SSOE seeks an Electrical Designer to prepare conceptual, FEED, and detailed installation drawings, develop 3D models, and coordinate with multiple disciplines to deliver clash-free, constructible electrical designs that meet project specifications and schedules.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare conceptual, FEED, and detailed installation drawings that are technically sound and constructible
- Develop and coordinate 3D models across disciplines to ensure clash-free designs
- Deliver design outputs in line with project specifications and timelines
- Apply technical expertise and leverage AI/automation tools to execute discipline-specific tasks
- Plan, prioritize, and manage work to meet project deadlines
- Interpret contract scope, specifications, schedules, and inter-discipline requirements; resolve issues proactively
- Identify scope changes and raise change notifications with supporting documentation and estimates
- Raise technical queries to address information gaps and ensure compliance with standards
- Prepare and review bills of materials and perform electrical material take-offs
- Participate in clash detection and resolution activities
- Prepare and review electrical deliverables: single-line diagrams, earthing & lightning protection, substations, lighting layouts & calculations, schematics, interconnection/wiring diagrams, cable/conduit layouts & schedules, tray/support drawings, and wire/conduit sizing
- Attend project meetings (kick-offs, design reviews, vendor/supplier discussions)
- Maintain discipline documentation, drawings, and final archives
Requirements
- Diploma in an electrical engineering field (required)
- 5–7 years of relevant experience, including exposure to U.S. projects
- Additional certifications or previous working experience with Revit (required)
- Working knowledge of NFPA 70 is a plus
- Experience with industrial, manufacturing, commercial, or data center projects
- Strong digital, verbal, and written communication skills in English
- Ability to work evening hours to communicate with U.S. stakeholders as needed
