The role coordinates across equipment designers, system owners, A/E partners, and clients, performs field validation, and manages data changes as layouts and tool scopes evolve.

Role
The Electrical Engineer — Electrical Pre-Assignment is responsible for ownership and integrity of the electrical pre-assignment database that drives semiconductor process tool hookup design. The role ensures tool electrical points of connection (POCs) are assigned, capacity-validated, physically available in the field, and aligned with construction scope and schedule. The engineer interfaces with equipment design, electrical system owners, project discipline engineers, A/E partners, and clients to keep pre-assignment data accurate as layouts and tool scopes change.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain completeness and accuracy of the electrical pre-assignment database, including POC tags, panel/breaker assignments, load data, and tool-to-facility POC mapping.
- Evaluate and incorporate impacts from layout revisions, tool scope changes, new supplier data, and facilities equipment installations.
- Coordinate POC and capacity requirements with construction scope and schedule; identify gaps, conflicts, and long-lead risks and escalate as needed.
- Interface daily with electrical system owners, discipline engineers, A/E firms, and clients to resolve open issues and update the database.
- Execute regular field walks to validate physical availability of assigned POCs and identify anomalies for resolution.
- Present pre-assignment status, open issues, and capacity constraints at Electrical Working Group (EWG) meetings.
- Propose and communicate improvements for pre-assignment processes, data quality controls, and cross-discipline coordination.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a closely related engineering discipline (or equivalent combination of education and directly relevant experience).
- Experience with electrical power distribution for industrial or high-tech facilities.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical one-lines, panel schedules, equipment layouts, and tool utility/connection specifications from suppliers.
- Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD (or CAD viewer), Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook), and PDF markup/collaboration tools such as Adobe Acrobat or Bluebeam.
- Experience managing engineering data: tracking large sets of connection and capacity records, controlling revisions, and maintaining traceability.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and ability to coordinate across multiple stakeholder groups and escalate issues constructively.
- Willingness and ability to perform routine field walks in active construction and/or cleanroom environments, including use of required PPE.
- Working knowledge of the National Electrical Code (NEC) as it relates to circuit sizing, system capacity, and equipment/component ratings.

Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range: $70,000 - $90,000 per year (dependent on location, education, experience, and certifications).
