Role
SSOE is seeking an Electrical Engineer to produce electrical designs and documentation for semiconductor tool installations, power distribution, cleanrooms, and facility upgrades. This onsite role in the North Phoenix, AZ area works with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, code-compliant, and scalable electrical systems for advanced manufacturing facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce technical project plans, specifications, drawings, and models aligned with industry standards and client requirements.
- Develop detailed electrical drawings and documentation for process equipment installations, tool hookups, subfab rack and lateral design, and facility/cleanroom modifications.
- Perform conduit and conductor sizing based on load and environmental factors.
- Assess and plan cable tray fills to ensure proper management and future scalability.
- Conduct short circuit and voltage drop calculations to size protective devices and verify system stability.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and company CAD/design standards.
- Collaborate with senior engineers, project managers, and cross-disciplinary teams (mechanical, structural, process, architectural) to resolve design issues.
- Perform field verifications, site walks, and resolve design issues during construction as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution; candidate must qualify for professional engineering licensure in Arizona.
- Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE/EIT) exam is highly desired.
- Demonstrated proficiency in AutoCAD for electrical design drafting is required.
- Experience with Revit, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
- Knowledge of electrical codes and standards (e.g., National Electric Code, NFPA).
- Strong technical communication skills and ability to convey design information to project managers, contractors, and multidisciplinary teams.

Compensation & Location
- Salary Range: $68,000 - $98,000 per year (depending on location, education, experience, and relevant certifications).
- This position is strictly onsite and requires daily presence in the North Phoenix, AZ area; remote or hybrid arrangements are not available.
