Electrical Engineer
Uses vibe-coding platforms and industry LLMs from day one to accelerate workflows and AI-assisted design tasks.
About the Role
Electrical Engineer responsible for planning and designing complex low- and medium-voltage electrical systems for semiconductor and advanced-technology facilities, from concept through construction administration. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver code-compliant, constructible power distribution designs for cleanrooms and mission-critical manufacturing spaces while leveraging AI tools and vibe-coding platforms to improve productivity.
Job Description
Role
The Electrical Engineer will support planning and design of electrical systems for semiconductor and advanced-technology facilities (cleanrooms, fabs, and mission-critical manufacturing). The role covers conceptual development, load studies, and detailed design of low- and medium-voltage power distribution systems through construction administration and commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform electrical design and engineering for new builds, expansions, and renovations, including basis of design, load analysis, and construction documents.
- Design and coordinate low-voltage and medium-voltage power distribution systems (MV switchgear, substations, transformers, switchboards, MCCs, panelboards, busway, critical power pathways).
- Produce electrical one-lines, riser diagrams, equipment schedules, power plans, and calculations.
- Conduct load calculations, short-circuit studies, voltage drop analysis, selective coordination, and arc flash mitigation analysis.
- Coordinate with project managers, architects, process, mechanical, structural, controls, and fire protection teams to resolve interfaces and design conflicts.
- Participate in QA/QC reviews, interdisciplinary coordination meetings, and internal design reviews.
- Support integrated design-build delivery by responding to RFIs, reviewing submittals/vendor data, and incorporating field feedback.
- Conduct site walks, field investigations, and construction administration to verify conditions and support issue resolution.
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to quality assurance and technical guidance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an ABET-accredited program; qualifying candidate for professional engineering licensure in Arizona.
- PE license preferred; FE/EIT completion highly desired.
- Demonstrated experience designing electrical systems for large, complex facilities from concept through construction administration in an integrated design-build environment.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD required; experience with Revit, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
- Strong knowledge of low- and medium-voltage distribution, switchgear, substations, transformers, MCCs, panelboards, busway, and critical power systems.
- Experience performing electrical calculations and analyses (load studies, coordination studies, short-circuit, voltage drop, arc flash).
- Ability to produce and review design documents, construction drawings, specifications, and calculation packages.
- Strong written and verbal communication, coordination skills, technical judgment, and a safety-focused approach.
