Role
Mid-level Electrical Designer in SSOE’s Advanced Technology division focused on electrical design for industrial and high-tech manufacturing facilities. The role centers on producing detailed electrical design drawings, maintaining Revit BIM models, performing electrical calculations, and coordinating across disciplines to deliver compliant and constructible designs.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop detailed electrical design drawings and technical documentation for power distribution systems, switchgear lineups, lighting layouts, grounding and lightning protection.
- Create and maintain Revit models for electrical systems and produce construction documents, panel schedules, and system diagrams.
- Participate in BIM coordination including multi-discipline clash detection and resolution using Navisworks.
- Maintain BIM model quality by following BIM execution plans, company Revit standards, and modeling best practices.
- Determine conduit, conductor, and wire sizing; assess cable tray fills; perform short circuit and voltage drop calculations.
- Ensure designs comply with local, state, and national electrical codes and industry standards.
- Collaborate with Designers, Senior Engineers, Project Managers, and other stakeholders to solve complex design problems.
Qualifications / Requirements
- Diploma in Electrical Engineering or related field (required); BIM/Revit coursework or certifications are a plus.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Revit for electrical modeling, documentation, and BIM coordination.
- Minimum 3+ years experience with BIM coordination tools such as Navisworks for clash detection and multi-discipline coordination.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD preferred; experience with ETAP, SKM PowerTools, and/or EasyPower is a plus.
- Ability to produce power distribution schematics, panel schedules, lighting and grounding plans.
- Strong communication skills in English for digital, verbal, and written collaboration with local and international teams.
- Knowledge of U.S. electrical codes and standards (e.g., NEC, NFPA) required; familiarity with IEC standards is a plus.
- Willingness to work evening hours to maintain communication with U.S. teams.
Work Schedule
- Working hours aligned to IST: morning 8:00–12:00 IST and evening 20:00–00:00 IST to coordinate with U.S. teams.
