Role
Entry Level Piping Engineer to participate in the design and drafting of piping systems for industrial and high‑tech manufacturing facilities. The position supports spooling, bill of material extraction and review, coordination with other design disciplines, and delivery of presentation‑quality deliverables with minimal supervision.
Key Responsibilities
- Analyze sketches, notes and input materials to plan and prepare piping drawings.
- Develop complex piping drawings from P&IDs, GA drawings, piping specifications, and equipment arrangement drawings.
- Support spooling of process piping (water, gas, air, waste) and coordinate with the spooling team.
- Coordinate with piping engineering and other design disciplines to resolve issues.
- Extract and review reports and bill of materials from modeling software.
- Assist in checking and quality assurance as required.
- Apply design fundamentals to systems or subsystems and solve design problems with some assistance.
- Participate in model review and coordination activities.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (full‑time).
- 1 to 3 years of related piping design/drafting experience.
- Proficiency with Revit for drafting and mechanical equipment modeling, Spooling for process piping, Naviswork for model review and coordination, and AUTOCAD.
- Working knowledge of P&ID symbology and basic process piping codes (e.g., ASME B31.3) and ASTM references.
- Ability to extract and review bill of material reports from models.
- Strong digital, verbal and written communication skills in English; ability to coordinate with international teams.
- Ability to work independently and produce presentation‑level deliverables with minimal supervision.
Work Hours
- Required overlap hours: Morning 08:00–12:00 IST and evening 20:00–00:00 IST to coordinate with international offices.
- Hybrid work environment: two days in office and three days working from home.
