Job Description
Role
A Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) partners directly with customers to design, build, deploy, and configure technical solutions that integrate into customer workflows. The role combines software engineering, product thinking, and client-facing responsibilities to deliver working systems quickly in production environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Work closely with clients to understand technical and business challenges
- Design and implement custom solutions using internal platforms or APIs
- Deploy and configure software in customer environments (cloud and on-premises)
- Build prototypes, dashboards, and data pipelines rapidly
- Translate ambiguous requirements into production-ready systems
- Debug and resolve issues in production under tight timelines
- Collaborate with product and engineering teams to improve core platforms
- Provide technical guidance and training to clients as needed
Requirements
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, or JavaScript
- Experience with APIs, databases, and system integration
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure)
- Ability to work across the stack (backend-heavy, but flexible)
- Systems thinking, strong problem-solving, and a quick iteration mindset
- Strong client-facing communication and ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in consulting, startups, or customer-facing engineering roles
- Exposure to data engineering, ML systems, or analytics tools
- Comfort working in high-pressure, fast-changing environments
Mandatory Technologies / Skill Set
- Hands-on experience with CLI-based development tools (e.g., Git, Docker, AWS/GCP CLI, AI CLI agents)
- Experience with API integrations (REST, webhooks)
Location & Work Model
- Hybrid role with customer and on-site engagements (Chennai / Bengaluru locations referenced)
