Role
Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) — remote within Germany. Deliver customer-facing AI and automation solutions that integrate CAD/CAE and engineering tools, build workflows and multi-agent systems on the Synera platform, and translate customer needs into product improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Build workflows and multi-agent systems on Synera that demonstrate rapid customer value
- Identify high-impact use cases together with customers
- Visit customers regularly (up to ~40% travel) for workshops and on-site collaboration
- Fill missing functionality with scripts, web-node automations, and custom add-ins
- Optimize prompts and agent behaviors to improve reliability
- Work closely with product managers to migrate temporary solutions into the product
Typical Week (example)
- Kick off weekly alignment with Customer Success Managers
- Develop workflows for extracting CAD data and integrating with downstream tooling
- Lead on-site workshops to incorporate workflows into multi-agent systems on real data
- Participate in customer sprint reviews and share user insights with product teams
- Join knowledge exchange sessions with other FDEs and Solution Engineers
Requirements
- Technical background in Computational, Automation, or Mechanical Engineering
- Proven customer-facing experience (~1–3 years) showing strong communication and ability to demonstrate business value
- Experience with CAD/CAE tools (examples: OptiStruct, Siemens NX, CATIA, ANSYS, Nastran, Abaqus, LS-DYNA)
- Experience and/or strong interest in AI (LLMs, prompt engineering, vibe coding)
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Strong collaboration and workshop facilitation skills; explain complex topics clearly
- Native German speaker or professional-level German proficiency
- Willingness to travel for customer visits and workshops (around 40%)
- Experience with Synera, C#, and Python is a plus
Compensation & Levels
- Intermediate Level: 63,200–78,800 EUR (OTE)
- Experienced Level: 77,300–100,300 EUR (OTE)
OTE = total expected compensation (base + variable) if team performance targets are met. Final level is determined by experience and impact.
