Forward Deployed Engineer

Role

Lovable is hiring its first Forward Deployed Engineer to create a new function at the intersection of engineering, product, customer success, and research. The role focuses on partnering directly with customers to design, prototype, and ship AI-powered features and systems, and to influence the product and technical roadmap.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the primary technical partner for ambitious customers, understanding workflows and requirements.
• Rapidly prototype, design, and implement customer-facing solutions that integrate with Lovable.
• Translate real usage insights into platform and product improvements.
• Own projects end-to-end: architecture, shipping, iteration, and operationalization.
• Shape the Forward Deployed Engineering practice (rituals, playbooks, org design).
• Contribute to core product strategy and technical decision-making.

Requirements

• 5+ years building and shipping full-stack products.
• Proficiency in modern frontend development (React and TypeScript) and strong backend development skills.
• Strong architectural thinking and familiarity with distributed systems.
• Ability to rapidly prototype, experiment, and learn from real usage.
• Exceptional product intuition and experience working directly with users.
• Comfortable operating in high-ambiguity, high-agency environments.

Nice-to-have

• Experience with agentic AI systems or building with LLMs.
• Experience leading zero-to-one product development.
• Experience in founding or early-stage startup environments.

• Frontend: React, TypeScript
• Backend: Golang, Rust
• Cloud / Infrastructure: Cloudflare, GCP, AWS, multiple LLM providers
• Tooling: GitHub Actions, OTEL (OpenTelemetry), Grafana, Terraform
