Forward Deployed Engineer

Role

As a Forward Deployed Engineer you will be a post-sale, client-facing software engineer who builds, presents, and ships AI solutions directly on each client’s technology stack. You will be paired with an AI strategist who manages the client relationship while you own the technical build, delivery, and technical leadership for engagements.

Key Responsibilities

• Implement, present, and ship production AI solutions across clients’ existing tech stacks.
• Own full-stack development and deployment in a collaborative team environment.
• Lead technical initiatives and operate with a high degree of autonomy.
• Partner closely with an AI strategist to align technical delivery with client needs.
• Occasionally support pre-sale scoping when required.
• Travel to client sites roughly 1-2 times per month as needed.

Requirements

• 3–8 years of software engineering experience.
• Strong full-stack engineering experience, comfortable shipping production software in a team.
• Demonstrated experience designing, developing, and maintaining web applications and agentic applications.
• Track record of leading technical initiatives and working independently.
• Client-facing experience strongly preferred.
• Backgrounds as a former founder, CTO, or founding engineer, or prior engineering-led AI consulting experience are highly valued.
• Computer science or engineering education is a plus.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, in-person environment when required and willing to work beyond a standard week occasionally.

Compensation & Location

• Base: $180,000
• OTE: $220,000–$500,000+
• Work model: Remote (United States). Travel to client sites ~1–2 times/month.
