Forward Deployed Product Manager
Uses Anthropic's Claude and agentic AI to build AI-native product workflows and coach client teams on AI-assisted spec and delivery practices.
About the Role
Lead product workstreams in client engagements to redesign product development lifecycles and drive AI-native, agentic workflows. Embed with client product and engineering teams to scope prototypes, write executable specs, coach PMs, and translate field learnings into practice-level methodology.
Job Description
Role
Forward Deployed Product Manager embedded in client engagements to lead the Product workstream across transformation and prototype engagements. You will assess current product practices, design future-state PDLCs, define sprint charters and specs for prototypes/MVPs, and coach client product teams to adopt AI-assisted workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the product workstream end-to-end on enterprise transformation programs: assess current-state, design future-state PDLC, and coach client PMs through organizational shifts.
- Anchor product discovery and delivery on prototype and build-enable engagements: run discovery, shape delivery backlog, define Sprint Charter, and write specs that drive prototype and MVP development.
- Design and deliver PM training curricula and enablement sessions using real delivery work.
- Surface expansion opportunities and maintain clear next-step recommendations by engagement close.
- Help define and refine product-facing agents: idea consolidation, spec generation, PM workflow automation, and prioritization logic.
- Provide field feedback to improve agent design, prompt configuration, and scoping frameworks.
- Co-own product spec artifacts and incorporate PDLC patterns from the field into methodology, templates, and scoping frameworks.
- Support pre-sales conversations when product definition, sprint structure, or PDLC maturity assessment is part of qualification.
Requirements
Required:
- 7+ years of product management experience, including client-facing, embedded, or consulting roles.
- Direct experience with product teamsβ discovery, PDLC design, and spec practices.
- Experience or demonstrated capability using agentic AI to facilitate product management activities.
- Strong facilitation skills to run working sessions, synthesize ambiguous input, and drive signed decisions.
- Ability to write clean, executable specs for delivery and as models for coached teams.
- Technical fluency to scope prototypes with engineers and participate in architecture handoffs.
Preferred:
- Background in professional services, management consulting, or embedded advisory roles.
- Experience redesigning product functions inside client organizations (not just recommendations).
- Familiarity with AI-native product workflows: spec-driven development, LLM-assisted requirements generation, or agentic tooling.
- Experience with PE portfolio companies or enterprise engineering organizations undergoing modernization.
- Hands-on familiarity with Claude Code or equivalent AI-assisted development tooling.
Who Thrives Here
- Operates inside the client product function and participates in roadmap, scoping, and spec reviews.
- Focuses on making client PMs better and enabling AI-native workflows that persist after engagement close.
- Holds diagnosis and design responsibilities from assessment through future-state design and handoff.
- Can build sprints with engineers and defend scope based on technical feasibility.
- Feeds field observations back into methodology improvements.
