Founding Engineer

Role

Founding Engineer (full-stack) responsible for building both frontend and backend systems for a native vibe coding platform that automates enterprise workflows using natural language and AI.

Key Responsibilities

• Architect and implement frontend and backend systems powering the vibe coding platform.
• Define technical strategy including system design, data modeling, service boundaries, and infrastructure choices.
• Integrate AI models and build reliable natural language-to-action pipelines.
• Collaborate directly with customers to translate enterprise needs into product solutions.
• Evolve infrastructure for reliability, observability, and performance at enterprise scale.
• Ship quickly while maintaining sustainable, maintainable systems.

Requirements

• 5+ years building products quickly.
• Strong full-stack experience with TypeScript (backend and frontend) and React.
• Deep understanding of system design, database architecture, and scaling distributed systems.
• Experience with modern deployment and infrastructure (Vercel, Cloudflare Workers).
• Infrastructure as code experience (Terraform).
• CI/CD pipeline experience (GitHub Actions).
• Experience with AI frameworks and patterns (Vercel AI SDK, Mastra; agentic loops, tool calling, streaming, MCP).
• Founder mentality: ownership, independence, and willingness to work hard.
• Must be ready to work in person in San Francisco.

Bonus

• Familiarity with tools like OpenCode.
• Experience shipping AI/LLM products to production.
• LLM observability and production debugging experience (Langfuse, Datadog).
• Early-stage startup experience and major OSS contributions.

Compensation

• Compensation Range: $140,000 - $250,000 (USD).

• On-site in San Francisco. International team across San Francisco and Tokyo. YC W26-backed.
