Role
AI Governance & Cybersecurity Apprentice (12-month apprenticeship). Work with AI engineering and security teams to ensure the secure, ethical, and compliant deployment of AI systems, including custom models, third-party AI vendor integrations, and internal AI chatbots. Provide governance and security feedback during development and rapid prototyping (“vibe coding”).

Key Responsibilities
- Participate across the AI lifecycle from model conceptualization to production deployment and decommissioning.
- Document model lineage, data provenance, and decision-making logic to ensure transparency and auditability.
- Monitor model performance and behavioural drift to prevent unintended outcomes.
- Conduct security assessments on AI models and data pipelines to identify vulnerabilities (e.g., prompt injection, data poisoning, model inversion).
- Assist in implementing human-in-the-loop controls to mitigate security risks in automated processes.
- Collaborate with security teams to maintain secure posture for LLMs, RAG architectures, and agentic workflows.
- Provide real-time governance feedback during rapid prototyping and “vibe coding” sessions.
- Help ensure experimental code adheres to security standards while enabling innovation.
- Support secure deployment of internal AI chatbots and perform security/compliance assessments of third-party AI APIs and SaaS vendors.
- Maintain an inventory of AI vendors and tools and evaluate their data handling, privacy policies, and security certifications.
- Work with legal and compliance teams to align vendor contracts with AI risk management frameworks.
Eligibility
- Must not be self-employed, enrolled in other government-funded programs, practicing professionally at application time, or registered on EPF/ESIC Portal.
- Must not have completed education from a foreign university.
- Apprentices must have Aadhaar seeded with personal mobile number and email address (mandated).
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or Information Technology.
- Understanding of AI fundamentals including familiarity with LLMs, prompt engineering, and API integration mechanics.
- Strong analytical mindset, attention to detail, and ability to communicate technical risks to non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in ethics, regulatory compliance, and secure software development practices.
Preferred Skills
- Experience or familiarity with Python.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST AI RMF and OWASP Top 10 for LLMs.
