Industrial Design - Remote

Role

Industrial Design contractor focused on shaping AI-driven, multi-modal design workflows and producing high-quality digital and immersive visual design work (web/apps, brand/marketing assets, new media). Work is remote, asynchronous, and project-based with initial commitment of 10–20 hours per week and potential to increase.

Key Responsibilities

• Critique, craft, and review experimental design workflows that integrate frontier AI models.
• Experiment with and shape how AI simulates multi-modal design processes across mediums.
• Produce high-quality digital and immersive visual assets (websites, apps, brand/marketing, advanced new media) with unique aesthetics.
• Collaborate asynchronously with a team of designers across disciplines.
• Participate in a short AI interview about creative process, portfolio review, and a writing assessment.

Requirements

• 1+ years of professional experience in graphic or UI design.
• Bachelor’s degree in design or a related field.
• Strong background creating digital or immersive visual designs across web, apps, brand/marketing, and new media.
• Exposure to working with LLMs, GenAI prompting, and vibe coding.
• Proficiency with creative coding tools, explicitly including HTML/CSS, Processing, and three.js.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Schedule & Start

• Project is 10–20 hours per week with potential for increased hours based on performance.
• Role begins in late December; applications reviewed on a rolling basis.
• Engagement type: Independent contractor. Can be full-time or part-time contract depending on arrangement.

Interview Process

• Short AI interview focusing on creative process.
• Short portfolio review and a writing assessment following the interview.

Contract & Payment Terms

• Engaged as an independent contractor; fully remote and completed on your own schedule.
• Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded early depending on needs and performance.
• Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from other employers or institutions.
• Payments are weekly via Stripe or Wise based on services rendered.
