Role
The IT Business Systems Analyst combines business analysis with hands-on technical delivery to design, build, and maintain a production scheduling application running against a Microsoft SQL Server data warehouse. The role delivers end-to-end, data-driven internal applications (database through HTML/JavaScript UI), develops AI/LLM scheduling capabilities, and provides daily ERP support and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and deploy a production scheduling application using Python with an HTML front end, sourcing demand, production plan, inventory, and component coverage from ERP data.
- Develop AI/LLM scheduling capabilities and prototype an AI-based scheduling assistant in partnership with internal teams and Microsoft.
- Build and maintain data models, transformations, pipelines, and reports on the data warehouse to support self-service reporting (Tableau/Power BI).
- Provide daily support for ERP systems (order management, AR, AP, GL, procurement, shipping, operations).
- Configure, enhance, maintain, and document company databases and applications, primarily on Microsoft SQL Server.
- Partner with business users to gather requirements, translate needs into functional designs, and improve scheduling and reporting workflows.
- Develop and execute test scripts; lead system integration and user acceptance testing; support SOX and CMMC compliance efforts.
Requirements
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data/Analytics, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years hands-on configuring and supporting mid-to-large ERP systems (Microsoft Dynamics, Oracle, NetSuite, Infor, Epicor, or similar). Experience with Aptean Made2Manage (M2M) and Infor Visual is a strong plus.
Technical Requirements
- Advanced SQL and Microsoft SQL Server (T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, SSAS); experience building and optimizing queries, stored procedures, and data models against a data warehouse.
- Strong Python for data work and application development (examples called out: pandas, SQLAlchemy, and a web framework such as Flask, FastAPI, or Django).
- Demonstrated ability to deliver full-stack data-driven internal applications (database to HTML/CSS/JavaScript web UI).
- Hands-on experience applying AI and LLM tools, including AI-assisted coding, prompt engineering, and building LLM-powered assistants; familiarity with Microsoft/Azure AI (Azure OpenAI, Copilot) is preferred.
- Experience with modern data stack/ELT tooling (Fivetran, dbt or SQLMesh, or comparable) and BI platforms (Tableau or Power BI).
- Familiarity with Git, Docker, Jenkins, Linux, and scheduled-job orchestration (cron).
Domain & Compliance
- Understanding of manufacturing planning concepts (demand planning, SIOP/S&OP, MRP, BOM, routing, capacity, inventory/coverage) is strongly preferred.
- Experience in discrete manufacturing environments and exposure to SOX and CMMC compliance environments are a plus.
