Role
Avanciers is hiring a Java Technical Architect for a long-term contract to work in person in Berkeley, NJ or Carol Spring, FL. The Technical Development Lead will be a hands-on technical leader and developer responsible for designing and deploying enterprise-level full-stack Java solutions across cloud, web, and mobile platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as a hands-on technical lead and developer for full-stack Java applications.
- Design and implement cloud-native, distributed systems and microservices.
- Apply Domain-Driven Design and event-based architecture principles.
- Define and implement APIs and microservice interactions.
- Ensure security best practices, including PKI, SSL, RSA, key management, and digital signatures for mobile and server-side components.
- Drive high availability engineering, performance tuning, session management, and automated testing for web and mobile.
- Use AI-assisted coding tools to increase developer productivity.
- Manage the full SDLC, work in Agile and Waterfall environments, solve complex technical problems, and mentor junior engineers.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering/Technology.
- Minimum of 15+ years of experience designing and deploying enterprise-level technical applications.
- Expertise in distributed and cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Experience with containerization and orchestration (Kubernetes).
- Strong background in microservices and API-driven architectures.
- Experience with Java and JavaScript frameworks, specifically Quarkus and Spring.
- Experience with distributed databases such as Postgres and Yugabyte.
- Strong command of security protocols and cryptography concepts (PKI, SSL, RSA), including key management and digital signatures.
- Hands-on experience with AI-assisted coding tools (referred to as “vibe coding tools”) such as GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Kiro, WindSurf, or Claude Code, plus familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
- Proven experience with high availability, performance tuning, session management, and automated testing for mobile and web applications.
- Experience working in both Agile and Waterfall methodologies and mentoring/leading engineering teams.
