Role
Senior Lead Software Engineer on the Payments Trust and Safety Technology team focused on Fraud Protection. You will design, develop, and deploy cloud-native applications on AWS, drive operational stability, and lead adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices across teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and deploy secure, high-quality production code for cloud-native applications using AWS services.
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and application deployment using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and AWS CDK.
- Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize application performance, reliability, and operational stability in AWS environments.
- Implement security and compliance controls (IAM policies, encryption, monitoring) and support audits and regulatory reviews.
- Lead communities of practice and drive awareness and adoption of cloud technologies and engineering best practices.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices (e.g., AI-assisted code review/refactoring, test acceleration, release readiness, incident/root-cause analysis) and establish validation standards.
- Document technical solutions and provide technical leadership and mentoring to engineering teams.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
- Extensive hands-on experience with AWS services and infrastructure (EC2, S3, Lambda, RDS, Aurora, ECS, EKS, Glue, ALB/NLB, serverless architectures).
- Experience with infrastructure automation and deployment tooling (CloudFormation, Terraform, AWS CDK).
- Proficiency in programming languages and frameworks such as Java, Spring Boot, Python, and Node.js.
- Strong knowledge of CI/CD, application resiliency, security, and the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Experience with event streaming using Kafka and building high-volume, low-latency transactional systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot) and coaching teams on responsible and secure usage.
- Ability to deliver high-quality results under tight deadlines and focus on performance tuning and optimization.
Preferred Qualifications
- Full-stack development knowledge and enterprise architecture experience for unified user experiences and data sharing via APIs and Kafka.
- Experience with case management workflows and orchestration across cross-functional teams.
- Prior experience with “vibe coding” or conceptual familiarity leveraging developer assistant tools to accelerate prototyping.
