Layout Manager

Role

Lead and develop Micron’s Custom layout team to meet global NAND layout needs, delivering analog and custom layout projects on schedule while driving technical capability, team growth, and a positive inclusive culture.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage a Custom layout team responsible for Micron’s global NAND layout work.
• Drive development of analog and custom layout to meet project schedules and quality targets.
• Coordinate and prioritize logistics and resources across multiple projects.
• Collaborate with TD, Design, CAD, and layout teams across India, US, Japan, and Italy to ensure timely delivery.
• Lead hiring, retention, performance management, and professional development for the team.
• Drive innovation for future memory generations and improve workflows using automation and AI tools.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Cadence VLE/VXL and Calibre DRC/LVS (required).
• Demonstrated attention to detail and a systematic, methodical approach to IC layout design and planning.
• Proven leadership and team management experience in a technical engineering environment.
• Experience coordinating cross-functional and geographically distributed engineering teams.
• Prior experience with NAND or other non-volatile memory is preferred but not mandatory.
• Proven ability to use AI-assisted (“vibe”) coding techniques and leverage AI tools to automate tools and workflows, improving efficiency.
