Role
Equifax is hiring a Lead AI Engineer to lead the shift from manual coding to an AI-first software engineering paradigm. The role will design, prototype, and operate agentic AI solutions and AI-assisted developer workflows to increase engineering velocity, improve code quality, and deliver secure, production-grade systems on Google Cloud Platform.
Key Responsibilities
- Champion AI-assisted development using tools such as Gemini, GitHub Copilot, and Claude to speed development, improve documentation, testing, and observability.
- Lead AI research & innovation: identify, prototype, and integrate foundational models, RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) techniques, and agentic frameworks to address enterprise challenges.
- Architect and operate production-scale AI systems on Google Cloud Platform, focusing on secure, compliant, and standardized CI/CD pipelines (the organization’s “Golden Path”).
- Collaborate with product leaders, architects, SREs, and engineers to translate business needs into robust technical solutions and transition from a traditional SDLC to an AI Development Life Cycle (AI DLC).
- Maintain a metrics-driven, data-informed approach to optimize solution efficiency and quantify business impact.
- Engage in security and compliance approval processes and ensure secure-by-design implementations.
- Mentor and guide engineering teams on AI-driven best practices and platform usage.
Requirements
- Minimum 7 years of experience in software engineering with demonstrated leadership through ambiguity and cross-functional team influence.
- At least 2 years applying Generative AI to enterprise problems and minimum 1 year working with agentic AI frameworks.
- Expert-level proficiency with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC), CI/CD, and databases.
- Experience with observability and AI-powered log analysis/troubleshooting approaches.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
- Proficiency in Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, and/or Java; working knowledge of modern front-end frameworks.
Preferred / What Could Set You Apart
- Proven ability to engineer ecosystems that amplify other engineers’ productivity.
