Lead AI Product Designer (IC Track)

Role

Lead Product Designer on the R&D team focused on hybrid product and visual design with strong product thinking and visual craft. Own the full design lifecycle from research and ideation to high-fidelity production, motion design, and implementation-ready handoffs. Integrate AI into the daily design workflow and help evolve the design system while mentoring junior designers.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end design: research, ideation, user flows, wireframes, prototypes, high-fidelity visuals, and handoff to engineering.
• Create user-centered solutions that translate complex user and business problems into simple, functional designs.
• Rapid prototyping and usability testing; iterate using data-driven insights and performance metrics.
• Design conversational and non-conversational AI workflows, defining prompts, responses, confidence indicators, fallback states, and guardrails.
• Craft micro-interactions, motion design, and system feedback for responsive AI experiences, including handling latency and streaming responses.
• Produce designs across iOS, Android, responsive web, and marketing/presentation surfaces.
• Contribute to and evolve the design system, including design tokens and Figma-to-production connections.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and engineers; demonstrate front-end awareness for implementation feasibility.
• Mentor and guide junior designers and promote a collaborative design culture.
• Ensure accessibility and inclusivity in design solutions.

Requirements

• 8–10 years of professional experience in Product Design, UX/UI Design, or related roles.
• Advanced proficiency in Figma and experience with design systems and design tokens.
• Strong research, analytical, and data-driven decision-making skills (user research, competitive analysis, usability testing).
• Proven visual design craft: typography, color, composition, layout, and pixel-level attention to detail.
• Experience with motion design and animation; ability to produce content using After Effects (AE).
• Familiarity with front-end basics (HTML, CSS) and working with GitHub/PRs for handoff.
• Experience designing conversational AI interfaces and establishing responsible AI design patterns.
• Strong communication skills and proven success working in agile, cross-functional teams.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives, prioritize, and deliver in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s in Design/HCI or equivalent professional experience preferred.

Preferred / Nice-to-have

• Prior experience mentoring designers and shaping design culture.
• Demonstrable portfolio showing product thinking, visual design, motion, and systems work.
• Familiarity with current AI tools and workflows (actively using AI to accelerate ideation and prototyping).
