Role

Lead Integration Architect providing senior architectural leadership across enterprise integration initiatives. The role focuses on designing, governing, and assuring high-quality integration solutions with MuleSoft Anypoint Platform as the core technology and supporting platforms such as SAP BTP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead design and architectural assurance of integration solutions using MuleSoft Anypoint Platform and other integration platforms.
  • Guide and review solution designs for alignment with architectural standards, integration patterns, and best practices.
  • Define and continuously improve integration principles, standards, and reference architectures.
  • Facilitate architecture and design review sessions and provide guidance to delivery teams.
  • Partner with senior business and technology stakeholders to translate requirements into integration architectures.
  • Provide pragmatic architectural advice balancing delivery outcomes, platform sustainability, security, and risk.
  • Ensure integration designs are fit for large-scale initiatives and future-ready.
  • Promote reuse and consistency of integration assets, APIs, and patterns.
  • Define and monitor architectural and operational metrics: performance, resilience, security, cost, and observability.
  • Drive adoption of modern integration trends including API-led connectivity and Event-Driven Architecture (EDA).
  • Maintain AI literacy (including MCP, A2A, vibe coding) for integrations.
  • Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and coaching to onshore and offshore integration teams.
  • Support capability uplift through knowledge sharing and contribution to practice maturity.

Requirements

Essential

  • Extensive enterprise integration experience, with at least 5 years specializing in MuleSoft architecture and solution design.
  • Strong hands-on experience designing and delivering MuleSoft-based integrations.
  • Proven expertise in API design using RAML and OpenAPI (OAS).
  • Solid experience with integration security (authentication, authorization, encryption, secure API patterns).
  • Experience working in Agile and DevOps environments with strong software engineering practices.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to influence and advise senior stakeholders.

Desirable

  • Experience with MuleSoft Flex Gateway, Kubernetes, or modern API runtime architectures.
  • Working knowledge of Azure Integration Services and cloud integration patterns.
  • MuleSoft or related integration certifications.
