- Guide engineering implementation, run QA, and provide technically informed feedback on limitations.
- Collaborate across marketing, branding, product, and engineering; manage stakeholder relationships and advocate for motion design as a strategic partner.
- Leverage AI tools and modern workflows to accelerate concepting and rapid exploration of animation ideas.
- Create and share motion principles and help peers develop motion literacy for consistent feedback and adoption.
- Proactively find opportunities beyond briefs to solve unarticulated problems.
Requirements

- Portfolio demonstrating craft and systematic thinking, showing work that shipped and scaled.
- Deep proficiency in After Effects with strong knowledge of Lottie and Rive exports.
- Comfortable with Figma and Premiere Pro.
- Proficiency with video-generating AI tools named in the posting (Sora, Veo, Freepik, Mid-Journey) and general AI-assisted workflows.
- Understanding of how animations are implemented on web and mobile to collaborate effectively with engineers (production code knowledge not required).
- Strong eye for composition, color, typography, and pacing; able to develop visual concepts and direct production end-to-end.
- Ability to articulate the rationale behind motion decisions to non-designers, manage multi-stakeholder feedback, and present work clearly.
- Active interest in upskilling and staying current with motion design, runtimes, interaction design, and real-time graphics.
Nice to Have
- Experience building or contributing to motion design systems.
- Familiarity with creative coding tools.
- Background in a SaaS, product, or technology company.
- Understanding of accessibility considerations for motion (reduced motion preferences, cognitive load, clarity).
Benefits (high level)
- Competitive compensation package.
- Opportunity for equity ownership.
- Flexible work arrangement: both in-office and remote.
- Comprehensive health insurance coverage.
- Dedicated mental health support.
