Lead Product Designer, AI & Agentic Workflows
Uses vibe coding and AI-native tools for rapid prototyping and to simulate real agent interactions.
About the Role
Lead Product Designer focused on AI and agentic workflows at Mural, designing platform-level interaction models and prototypes where users and intelligent agents collaborate on a shared visual canvas. The role emphasizes using code and AI-native prototyping (including "vibe coding") to define agent behaviors, platform primitives, and scalable design systems while mentoring design peers.
Job Description
Role
Lead Product Designer responsible for defining AI-native features and platform-level interaction models for agentic workflows within Mural’s visual canvas. The role focuses on designing how agents understand intent, access data, and participate in collaborative workflows—moving beyond bolt-on AI to systems that balance autonomy, control, and transparency.
Key Responsibilities
- Use code as a primary design tool to explore ideas, interactions, and system behaviors for agentic workflows.
- Rapidly prototype concepts using AI-native tools and “vibe coding” to simulate real interactions, not just visuals.
- Define agent behaviors, communication, and actions across workflow moments and express them through interactive prototypes.
- Partner closely with engineering to evolve prototypes into scalable implementations (without owning production code).
- Create interaction models for human and multi-agent collaboration, including orchestration, handoffs, and shared context.
- Design platform-level components and primitives for AI and translate complex system behavior into usable experiences.
- Use Figma and other tools to refine, document, and communicate design work.
- Model design excellence, mentor peers, and lead practice-level thinking about AI as systems with behavior and responsibility.
- Lead workshops and design sprints, collaborate with product/research/data partners to define success metrics, and influence product strategy through design-led exploration.
Requirements
- 10+ years of product design experience focused on complex desktop consumer or enterprise applications.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted or agent-based experiences and the ambiguities around roles and autonomy.
- Proven experience contributing to design systems and product experiences at scale.
- Exceptional visual and interaction craft (visual clarity, spacing, motion, interaction polish).
- Strong systems thinking and experience designing across flows, surfaces, and user journeys.
- Experience designing for enterprise and consumer audiences and for accessibility, personalization, and inclusivity.
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in highly collaborative, iterative environments and operating in undefined spaces.
Nice to have
- Experience with canvas-based or spatial interfaces.
- Background in multi-agent systems, orchestration, or workflow automation.
- Experience designing with both structured and unstructured data in the same environment.
- Familiarity with concepts like memory, context windows, tool use, and agent reasoning.
- History of shaping 0→1 products or platform capabilities.
Location & Employment
- United States Remote; Canada Remote
- Full time, remote role
Compensation
- Base salary range: $150,000 - $188,000 (plus bonus and benefits)
