Role
Lead the design and development of high-quality, scalable, and reusable code for PracticeQ, a cloud-based practice management and EHR platform. Serve as the technical lead on your team: own features end-to-end, enforce engineering best practices, mentor engineers, and drive improvements in reliability and development workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead architecture, design, implementation, testing, and deployment of services and APIs.
- Collaborate with product owners to refine requirements and break down complex problems.
- Mentor and support engineers through pair programming, code reviews, and knowledge sharing.
- Improve reliability, performance, observability, and CI/CD workflows to enable faster, more confident delivery.
- Design intuitive and extensible APIs and integrations to support customer configuration and third-party services.
- Contribute to new features while modernizing and maintaining existing components and services.
- Partner with Product, Design, QA, DevOps, and Customer Success to ensure operability and value.
Requirements
- 6–8 years of hands-on software engineering experience building and operating production systems, ideally in a SaaS environment.
- Advanced proficiency in .NET/C# and experience delivering scalable, maintainable services and APIs.
- Strong front-end experience with Angular (or a similar modern framework) and the TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem.
- Experience with modern databases such as MongoDB (ideally MongoDB Atlas) and/or relational databases, including schema design and performance tuning.
- Experience owning features end-to-end, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, and production support.
- 1–2+ years acting as a technical lead: breaking down work, making tradeoffs, and guiding engineers.
- Practical experience with cloud platforms (AWS or similar), containers, and CI/CD pipelines.
- Familiarity with observability tools (e.g., Datadog) for monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Experience integrating third-party APIs and handling asynchronous workflows (background jobs, event listeners, scheduled tasks).
- Comfortable using modern AI coding assistants while maintaining code quality and security.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and an ownership mindset.

- This role is remote and eligible for benefits; expected compensation range: $145,000–$180,000 DOE. May be eligible for bonuses or equity.
