Lead Software Engineer - Remote
Explicitly requires vibe coding skills and mentions AI-assisted dev tools (Claude, Codex, GitHub Co-pilot, Cursor) for rapid prototyping and testing.
About the Role
Lead Software Engineer to serve as a hands-on technical leader for AI-driven products, designing and delivering end-to-end full stack systems that combine modern front-end experiences, cloud-native backend services, and AI/ML integrations. Partner with Product, Data, Security, and Platform teams to build resilient, production-ready software while mentoring engineers and driving architecture decisions.
Job Description
Role
Lead Software Engineer responsible for hands-on technical leadership and delivery of AI-driven products. The role owns design and implementation of full stack systems spanning front-end applications, backend services, APIs, cloud-native infrastructure, and AI/ML integrations; collaborates with Product, Data, Security, and Platform teams to produce resilient, production-grade software.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and evolve end-to-end systems including front-end applications, backend services, APIs, and integrations.
- Drive architectural decisions for scalability, reliability, performance, and security in distributed systems.
- Apply engineering standards and best practices through design reviews and code reviews.
- Develop modern front-end applications using React or Angular with TypeScript, emphasizing usability, accessibility, and performance.
- Build and maintain backend services and APIs using Python (FastAPI), Node.js, or equivalent frameworks; implement asynchronous and event-driven workflows and API versioning.
- Integrate AI/ML capabilities (model inference APIs, data-driven workflows) and collaborate with Data Science / ML Engineering to operationalize features.
- Implement secure authentication/authorization patterns (OAuth2, RBAC, token-based auth) and manage secrets and data protection for regulated environments.
- Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows; build and deploy containerized applications and monitor system performance and reliability.
- Serve as a technical lead for complex initiatives, coordinate across teams, mentor engineers, and act as an escalation point for production incidents.

- 8+ years of professional software engineering experience building and operating complex distributed systems.
- 4+ years building backend services/APIs using Python (FastAPI), Node.js, or similar frameworks.
- 3+ years serving as a technical lead for cross-cutting initiatives while remaining hands-on.
- 3+ years developing front-end applications with React or Angular and TypeScript.
- 3+ years deploying and operating applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including Docker and microservices patterns.
- Experience using AI-assisted development / βvibe codingβ tools (examples given: Claude, Codex, GitHub Co-pilot) to support prototyping and testing.
- Familiarity with Agile (Scrum/Kanban) development processes and GitHub-integrated workflows.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems design, incident analysis and remediation, CI/CD practices, and production observability (logging/metrics/tracing).
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience (2+ years) working in healthcare or highly regulated domains, with exposure to clinical systems or regulated data workflows.
- Experience integrating AI/ML features into production healthcare applications or payer/provider workflows.
- Practical understanding of security, privacy, and compliance considerations (e.g., HIPAA-aligned controls).
- Experience building systems leveraging agentic or generative AI models or advanced ML techniques.
