Lead structural designer responsible for leading structural design on large, multidisciplinary projects, producing and reviewing complex steel, reinforced concrete, and industrial structure models and construction documentation using BIM/CAD tools, while providing technical leadership and coordinating with global teams.

Role
Serve as the lead structural designer on large, complex, multidisciplinary projects. Coordinate design activities with global project teams, produce and oversee advanced 3D structural models and detailed construction documentation, and represent the design team in client and internal meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead structural modeling and drafting for steel, reinforced concrete, and industrial structures.
- Develop, review, and oversee construction documentation and ensure compliance with project specifications, BIM requirements, and industry standards.
- Plan, execute, and manage structural modeling activities independently, including advanced 3D modeling and detailed deliverables.
- Perform quality reviews of models, drawings, and deliverables for accuracy, constructability, and consistency with company standards.
- Coordinate with engineers, architects, and discipline leads to resolve design conflicts and implement design solutions.
- Establish modeling and drafting workflows, standards, and best practices to improve deliverable quality and project execution.
- Lead interdisciplinary model reviews and clash detection; drive resolution of coordination issues.
- Provide technical leadership, mentoring, and formal training to designers and junior team members.
- Participate in project planning activities such as scope definition, effort estimates, scheduling, and resource coordination.
- Conduct site visits to verify conditions, support field engineering, and validate design assumptions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives related to design technology, BIM processes, and productivity tools.
- Travel to project sites, client locations, or other offices as required.
Requirements
- Diploma in Civil Engineering; diploma or bachelor’s in CAD/BIM Design Technology or related field preferred.
- Minimum 15 years of experience as a designer or in modeling and drafting complex steel and concrete structures.
- Proficient with AutoCAD and Revit Structure; strong working knowledge of Model Building Codes and AISC & ACI material codes.
- Ability to fully utilize CAD/BIM software including AutoCAD, Revit, BIM 360, MicroStation, and Navisworks.
- Experience with software interoperability (examples cited: Revit to Risa and vice versa).
- Strong English communication skills and ability to coordinate with global teams.
- Ability to work independently and in team environments; may need to work evening hours to coordinate with U.S. teams.
