Role
Manager-level engineering leader responsible for guiding a team that designs, builds, and operates production-grade AI agents and features within Workday Adaptive Planning. The role emphasizes technical ownership across the full AI development lifecycle, people leadership, cross-team collaboration, and delivery of scalable, secure enterprise solutions for FP&A.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, coach, and mentor software engineering team members; promote career growth and model company values.
- Own and lead the full AI development lifecycle: problem framing, data preparation, design & development, deployment, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Design and develop AI agents that reason, learn, and interact across complex business processes; integrate agentic capabilities into core product features.
- Integrate AI frameworks and embed secure, scalable, and reliable agentic capabilities into Adaptive Planning.
- Collaborate across teams and functions to deliver customer-focused solutions under bold deadlines.
Requirements
Basic Qualifications
- 6+ years experience in software development engineering building and scaling enterprise software systems.
- 3+ years experience directly leading software development engineering teams.
- 4+ years experience with Java and Python.
- Extensive experience with large language models (LLMs), retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) systems, semantic search, text embedding models, vibe coding, MCP, langgraph, transformer neural networks, and related frameworks.
Other Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (e.g., Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering).
- Experience with agile software development practices.
- Experience with cloud computing platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP), containerization technologies (e.g., Docker), and data engineering pipelines (e.g., ETL).
- Experience developing and deploying machine learning solutions at scale, including specification design, data collection and labeling, model development, validation, deployment, and monitoring.
- Ability to balance speed with quality and perseverance in solving significant problems.
Work Model
- Flex Work: a hybrid approach combining in-person time and remote work. Teams spend at least half (50%) of their time each quarter in the office or in the field; remote “home office” roles may still come together for important moments.
