Role
The Manager, Technical Product Management is a product leader within Optum AI responsible for leading capability-level product outcomes across a product portfolio. The role operates at the intersection of business, engineering, and delivery to define requirements, prioritize features, and drive roadmap execution to improve product value and adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive feature and capability planning aligned to product strategy, roadmap, and OKRs
- Partner with engineering to define requirements, user stories, and backlog priorities
- Translate customer insights into actionable product enhancements
- Manage prioritization and trade-offs across customer experience, business requirements, operations, and technical constraints
- Collaborate with business, technology, design, and delivery stakeholders to ensure successful product delivery
- Support Agile product delivery processes and DevOps practices using tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Rally, and GitHub
- Lead cross-functional meetings and influence capability outcomes
- Monitor feature-level budgets, roadmap execution, and product performance metrics
- Use data and performance insights to inform prioritization and continuous improvement
- Mentor junior product team members and contribute to hiring and talent development
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or related field
- 10+ years of experience, with the most recent 5+ years in product management including capability or feature-level leadership
- Experience in product management, Agile methodologies, and software development lifecycles
- Experience with Agile tools such as JIRA, Aha!, Rally, GitHub, and DevOps practices
- Understanding of product roadmaps, backlog management, feature prioritization, and customer-centric product development
- Knowledge of end-to-end solution architecture, data flows, and integration concepts
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills
- Effective communication with business and technical stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience delivering AI/ML, Generative AI, or data-driven products
- Experience with cloud-native delivery on Azure / Optum Cloud, including data pipelines and platform integration
- Experience supporting AI products from POC through delivery and adoption
- Experience with vibe coding tools such as Claude Code and Codex
- Familiarity with Python, React, NodeJS, LLMs, and user-experience tools such as Figma and Sketch
- Domain knowledge of U.S. healthcare, payer/provider, or life-sciences ecosystems
- Familiarity with Responsible AI, model governance, and AI governance/privacy/legal review processes
