Role
Fitch Group’s Next-Generation Technology & Data Talent (NeXT) program is a 12-month, New York–based rotational early talent program for Associate Technologists. Participants complete intensive induction training and three four-month rotations across specialist areas such as application development, quality assurance, site reliability/DevOps, database management, and data/ML engineering, then transition into a permanent technology team upon graduation.
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in analysis, design, development, and testing of software applications using modern application development frameworks and full-stack or data engineering technologies.
- Collaborate on the design, build, and testing of scalable, secure data products and APIs.
- Develop software using languages and frameworks such as Python, Java, Springboot, JavaScript, React (or similar).
- Apply test-driven development (TDD) and behavior-driven development (BDD) techniques; write and maintain automated test scripts and QA automation.
- Contribute to development and deployment of ML and Generative AI solutions where applicable to rotations.
- Work with cloud platforms (AWS and/or Azure) and application security teams to implement best practices for data loading, LLM workflows, DevOps and DevSecOps.
- Engage with product owners and business stakeholders to translate business needs into technical requirements and user stories.
Requirements
- Currently pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, computer engineering, software engineering or computer information systems.
- Graduation between December 2025 and June 2026, minimum GPA of 3.0.
- Demonstrated knowledge of one or more programming languages (examples cited: Python, Java, C#, JavaScript).
- Understanding of software design patterns and fundamentals of ML and cloud computing (AWS or similar).
- Hands-on experience with Gen AI-assisted software development tools (examples cited: GitHub Copilot, Cursor, Cody or equivalent).
- Proficiency with ML algorithms (multi-class classification, decision trees, SVMs, neural networks); deep learning experience preferred.
- Less than 6 months of full-time software engineering experience.

- Creativity, quick problem-solving, and out-of-the-box thinking.
- Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills.
- Prior internships, work experience, or participation in coding competitions.
- Eagerness to learn new technologies, particularly in Gen AI and agentic frameworks.
