The role focuses on hands-on engineering of LLM-powered systems, RAG pipelines, agent orchestration, vector database integrations, and cloud/containerized deployments to deliver production-grade enterprise AI solutions.
Job Description
Role
The AI Developer will build, test, and deploy scalable GenAI and agentic AI applications across EXL’s analytics, operations, and digital transformation engagements. This is a hands-on individual contributor role within the capability development and pre-sales team with a strong focus on engineering excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop LLM-powered applications using Python-based frameworks.
- Implement RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) pipelines and integrate vector databases.
- Build prompt orchestration workflows, response optimization logic, and prompt evaluation.
- Develop agentic workflows and AI agents with tool integrations, reasoning loops, memory modules, and execution controls.
- Integrate AI agents with backend systems and expose services via REST APIs and microservices.
- Optimize inference performance, latency, and cost; support CI/CD pipelines and cloud deployments.
- Implement evaluation metrics for hallucination control and accuracy; debug and resolve performance bottlenecks.
- Document code, workflows, and solution designs; support capability development and pre-sales engagements.
Requirements
- 4–8 years of software development experience, including 2+ years working with AI/ML or GenAI applications.
- Strong proficiency in Python and experience in data handling/analytics with Python.
- Experience with LLM APIs, embeddings, and vector databases.
- Exposure to cloud-based deployments and containerization; experience supporting CI/CD.
- Strong analytical and debugging capabilities; testing and quality-focused mindset.
