Role
The People Operations Specialist will increase proactivity, speed, and quality across People Operations at Matter Labs by acting as a high-agency operator who identifies problems early, drives resolution, and strengthens frontline People support. The role provides flexible generalist capacity (part-time or full-time) and partners with People leadership to scale systems and processes for a remote-first, global organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Act as first point of contact for People-related topics across the company and co-own People Operations issues end-to-end (diagnose, resolve, document, close).
- Handle day-to-day People topics with discretion, clarity, and sound judgment; translate People policies into practical guidance.
- Maintain HiBob as a clean source of truth (data, workflows, lifecycle events) and ensure employee records and processes are accurate and compliant.
- Own and coordinate the employee onboarding experience.
- Support and co-maintain Leapsome for performance cycles, feedback, and calibration preparation.
- Support new compensation model implementation and proactively identify gaps, inefficiencies, and failure points in People Ops.
- Document Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and self-service resources; simplify processes and improve response times, clarity, and predictability of People workflows.
- Support Head of People, Head HRBP, and managers with People analytics, ad-hoc and routine projects, and actionable insights.
Requirements (Must-have)
- 5+ years of relevant HR / People experience, including 3+ years in a startup/tech organization.
- Experience supporting a 100+ remote-first, global, multicultural team.
- Hands-on experience with HiBob (or comparable HRIS) and Leapsome (or similar performance management tools).
- Strong operational judgment, critical thinking, and attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable with Notion, Slack, and Google Workspace.
- Ability to translate business priorities into People solutions and handle sensitive information with high integrity and discretion.
Nice to have
- Exposure to crypto / Web3 environments and comfort with on-chain basics (wallets, transactions, tokens).
- Technical curiosity around AI tools, automation, light scripting, and macros; prior experience combining ops and light HRBP responsibilities.
