Platform Engineer
Explicitly requires vibe coding (AI-assisted development) using LLMs and AI coding agents like Claude Code and GitHub Copilot to prototype and ship features quickly.
About the Role
Platform Engineer responsible for rapidly designing, building, and shipping AI-assisted and AI-native internal and customer-facing applications. Use LLMs and AI coding agents to prototype and productionize software while integrating with platform services, CI/CD, and GitOps workflows to ensure reliable, secure deployments.
Job Description
Role
As a Platform Engineer you’ll design, build, prototype, and productionize internal and customer-facing applications using AI-assisted and AI-native development practices (“vibe coding”). You’ll work with product, design, and platform teams to translate prompts and ideas into functional software and ensure those applications integrate with platform infrastructure, CI/CD, and GitOps workflows.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship applications using AI-assisted coding tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot).
- Translate prompts, requirements, and concepts into functional prototypes and production-ready applications via iterative, conversation-driven development.
- Integrate applications into containerized deployments and existing CI/CD / GitOps (Kubernetes, Helm, ArgoCD).
- Establish and follow best practices for AI-assisted development, including prompt engineering, code review standards, and responsible AI usage.
- Evaluate and recommend emerging AI development tools and frameworks to improve developer velocity and product quality.
- Troubleshoot, debug, and refine AI-generated code for quality, performance, security, and maintainability.
- Contribute to internal documentation and playbooks to help other developers adopt AI-assisted workflows.
- Monitor and iterate on deployed applications using observability and usage data.
- Support broader platform engineering and operational tasks as needed.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or equivalent experience, or equivalent work experience.
- 1+ years of software development experience (including internships, academic, or personal projects) with hands-on exposure to AI coding assistants or agentic development tools (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, Windsurf).
- Working knowledge of at least one modern programming language/stack (examples: Python, Golang) and exposure to frontend and backend development.
- Familiarity with version control (Git), testing, code review, and a willingness to adopt best practices when working with AI-generated code.
- Good teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills; ability to work in ambiguous, fast-moving environments.
- Basic understanding of Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
Preferred / Nice-to-Have
- Experience building and shipping AI-generated or AI-assisted applications to production.
- Basic exposure to containerization (Docker, Kubernetes), GitOps/CI-CD workflows (ArgoCD, Helm).
- Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools (Grafana, Loki, Alloy, Mimir, Tempo).
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform).
Compensation
- Base range provided: $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Role is eligible for variable pay (monetary bonus or other forms).
