Job Description

Role

The Practice & AI Systems Analyst is a member of the Information Services Department reporting to the Practice and AI Systems Manager. This hybrid, full-time role based in New York focuses on evaluating, implementing, and supporting AI-driven legal solutions, translating between legal and technical stakeholders, and advancing best practices for the thoughtful adoption of AI across the firm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, evaluate, and implement advanced legal AI solutions in collaboration with practice groups and technical teams.
  • Lead engagements with attorneys to identify and develop AI use cases and legal workflow solutions.
  • Design, test, and refine prompting and context strategies to improve AI performance for legal tasks.
  • Evaluate AI platforms, custom solutions, APIs, and integrations; provide usability and suitability feedback.
  • Drive change management and adoption efforts, including building awareness, engagement, and confidence among attorneys and staff.
  • Translate legal requirements into technical specifications and work with developers and vendors to optimize solutions.
  • Contribute to and deliver training programs, workshops, and demonstrations to empower users.
  • Provide responsive user support and guidance to maximize solution impact.
  • Track emerging AI trends and create best practice guides for AI use in legal practice.
  • Independently manage special projects as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree preferred.
  • At least 5 years of experience in a large law firm or professional services organization in practice management, technology, legal project management, innovation, knowledge management, or application management.
  • Demonstrated interest and expertise in artificial intelligence and its application to the legal sector.
  • Strong documentation skills (diagrams, user guides, support documentation).
  • Strong foundation in prompt and context engineering with proven experience improving technologies and workflows.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ability to collaborate across levels.
  • Solid project management experience and comfort with work management tools.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Understanding of data privacy, information governance, and ethical considerations relevant to law firms.
  • Basic understanding of application architecture and API-based integrations.

Preferred Skills

  • Familiarity with knowledge management tools, document management systems, intranets, or collaboration platforms.
  • Working knowledge of content management and web applications (e.g., SharePoint).
  • Understanding of relational databases (SQL Server) and basic knowledge of T-SQL and MS SQL Management Studio.
  • Basic understanding of coding and software design to participate in vibe-coding sessions.
