Principal Product Manager - CoreAI

Role

As Principal Product Manager - CoreAI for Azure Managed Redis you will define and drive the product vision, roadmap, and execution for Microsoft’s Redis Enterprise service on Azure. The role focuses on delivering a performant, scalable, and secure managed cache and knowledge layer that accelerates migrations from legacy tiers and enables AI scenarios such as RAG, vector search, semantic caching, and agent memory.

Key Responsibilities

• Own product vision and roadmap with an AI-first focus (RAG, agent memory, vector indexing, semantic caching) while maintaining reliability, security, and compliance.
• Convert customer and telemetry signals into prioritized roadmap decisions that reduce latency, lower inference/token costs, and increase relevance for AI applications.
• Lead cross-functional delivery with engineering (Microsoft & Redis Inc.), networking, compute, security, UX, docs, support, and program management to plan releases and ensure high-quality launches.
• Drive GTM and field enablement: shape AI-centric positioning, create demos and proof points, and partner with Product Marketing, Sales, and external partners to accelerate adoption.
• Engage customers and partners to validate scenarios, gather requirements, and translate feedback into specifications (embedding lifecycle, cache invalidation, policy controls for cost/latency tradeoffs).
• Use data, telemetry, and experimentation (A/B tests) to define success metrics (availability, latency, adoption, revenue) and make data-driven product decisions.
• Ensure enterprise readiness: security, compliance (FedRAMP, HIPAA as applicable), multi-region replication, backup/restore, automated failover, and 99.999% availability targets.
• Mentor and lead PMs, model a growth mindset, and foster an inclusive, outcome-driven culture.

Requirements

Minimum

• Bachelor’s Degree AND 8+ years experience in product management, program management, or software development, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to pass Microsoft Cloud background check and required security screenings.

Preferred

• Technical expertise in distributed systems, databases, cloud infrastructure, or high-scale web/data systems; experience with in-memory data stores or caching solutions (Redis) is highly desirable.
• Proven track record defining product vision, driving multi-year roadmaps, and launching products/features in cloud services.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration and influencing skills; comfortable presenting to executives and customers.
• Customer-focused, data-driven mindset with experience using telemetry and metrics to inform decisions.
• Hands-on coding or “vibe coding” experience to quickly build proofs of concept and demos.
• Domain knowledge of Redis (open-source or commercial), Azure Cache for Redis, Redis modules (RediSearch, RedisJSON, RedisTimeSeries) is a plus.
• Familiarity with AI/ML workloads, vector databases, and how caching/fast data lookup accelerate model inference and AI applications.
• Open-source and partner collaboration experience.
• Excellent communication skills for presentations, documentation, and evangelism.

Compensation & Other Notes

• Typical U.S. base pay range for this role: USD $139,900 - $274,800 per year. A higher range applies to SF Bay Area and NYC metro: USD $188,000 - $304,200 per year.
