Principal Product Manager

Role

As a Principal Product Manager on the Search & AI Experiences team, you will define strategy and deliverable roadmaps for agentic generative AI experiences across search, chat, Copilot, and related entry points. You will translate applied research and model capabilities into user-facing features that scale, prioritize safety and quality, and drive daily active user (DAU) growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Define and deliver strategic roadmap and vision across multiple initiatives.
• Identify user workflows where AI adds clear value using data and user feedback.
• Turn model capabilities into specific product features, define MVPs, and iterate using user and business metrics.
• Work directly with applied science, engineering, and design to ship research-driven products at scale.
• Create and apply evaluation methods to track product quality, user experience, and safety.
• Write clear product documents to align stakeholders on goals, priorities, and decisions.
• Promote adoption and represent Microsoft AI externally to translate technical features into user benefits.
• Make informed decisions in uncertainty, manage risks and incidents, and run postmortems for continuous improvement.
• Drive DAU growth through feature prioritization, distribution tactics, cross-org execution, external partnerships, and growth initiatives.

Requirements

Required

• Bachelor’s degree and 8+ years of experience in product/service/program management or software development, or equivalent experience.

Preferred

• 3+ years launching 0-to-1 consumer-facing products from concept to market.
• 3+ years building products that leverage AI/ML technologies; experience shipping products in an AI lab or AI-focused startup.
• Proven track record collaborating with engineering, design, and research to deliver user-facing features.
• Familiarity with experimentation tools and data analytics; working knowledge of coding (“vibe coding”) in Python, JavaScript, and SQL.
• Strong analytical, communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Entrepreneurial mindset and demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional initiatives and global consumer product growth.

Location & Work Model

• Microsoft AI (MAI) expects employees who live within a 50-mile commute of a designated Microsoft office in the U.S. (or 25-mile non-U.S. equivalent) to work from the office at least four days per week (policy effective January 26, 2026).
