Role
A strategic, hands-on Principal UX Designer role focused on Fire TV and Tablet experiences. The designer will define vision and strategy, prototype and ship cross-endpoint experiences, and integrate Alexa’s agentic capabilities to enhance user interactions across communal (TV) and personal (tablet) contexts.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and prototype future agentic AI integrations across Fire TV and Tablet experiences.
- Create harmonized experiences that integrate across platforms, teams, and device types.
- Lead end-to-end systems and visual design from concept through UI, systems design, and prototyping.
- Establish vision, scale impact by empowering other designers, and contribute to design artifacts.
- Partner with Product and Engineering to deliver production-ready designs, specifications, and assets.
- Influence and collaborate with senior stakeholders (Director/VP) and cross-functional teams.
- Use customer research, metrics, and usability findings to drive user-centered solutions and measurable outcomes.
- Rapidly produce process flows, wireframes, and visual mockups to communicate interaction behaviors and system architectures.
Requirements (Basic Qualifications)
- 10+ years of product design experience with a proven record of shipping consumer products.
- Online portfolio demonstrating UI Design, Information Architecture, Visual and Interaction Design.
- Experience across the design lifecycle from strategy through execution.
- Strong systems thinking, visual design, and prototyping skills.
- Proven ability to navigate ambiguity and complexity in fast-paced environments.
- Strong communication, storytelling, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to provide strategic and tactical recommendations informed by data.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/generative AI product design.
- Experience with TV/streaming interfaces / 10-foot design.
- Experience designing operating systems (Windows, Android, iOS) and working on Android / Google Mobile Services (GMS).
- Experience operationalizing ambitious design concepts into executable roadmaps.
- Proficiency with modern design tools (Figma), prototyping tools, AI design tools, and vibe coding.
- Development knowledge (HTML/CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary range: 164,000 - 221,800 USD annually (Seattle, WA). Compensation may also include sign-on payments and RSUs.
