Job Description

Role

The Principal UX Designer on the Senior Talent and Transformation (STT) team defines UX vision and builds AI-enhanced, human-centered experiences that help Amazon senior leaders make faster, more effective decisions. You will prototype and co-design agentic-AI services, own end-to-end product experiences, and partner with designers, researchers, scientists, and business stakeholders to scale solutions across Amazon.

Key Responsibilities

  • Set UX vision and influence the strategic product roadmap.
  • Develop working prototypes to iterate quickly and learn fast.
  • Facilitate work sessions with executive leaders and stakeholders.
  • Own the design of end-to-end product experiences and features across the product lifecycle, from discovery to launch.
  • Lead design through discovery, iteration, and launch while championing human-centered design.
  • Drive creative process and collaboration with cross-functional partners to propose new ideas and strategies.
  • Provide coaching and feedback to grow junior designers and raise the design bar.
  • Create and drive adoption of design guidelines, patterns, best practices, processes, and tools.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

  • 12+ years of design experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in design, HCI, or 12 years of equivalent professional experience.
  • Available online portfolio demonstrating relevant work.
  • Experience with design and prototyping tools such as Figma and prototyping in HTML, JavaScript, CSS.
  • Proficiency with current web and accessibility standards.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
  • Experience working collaboratively with senior developers and cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of usability principles and design best practices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with UX design of complex workflows.
  • Experience with co-design and rapid prototyping.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools in the product design process and designing agentic-AI experiences.
  • Experience with “vibe coding.”
  • Experience defining and maintaining design patterns and UX standards.
  • Ability to produce iterative wireframes and mockups in an agile environment.
  • Master’s degree in Design, Information Science, Computer Science/HCI, or related discipline.

Compensation

  • Base pay range listed in the posting: $147,600/year to $244,000/year (varies by geographic market and other factors).
