Role
As the first Technical Designer / Design Engineer / UX Engineer, you will own and shape developer-facing experiences across GUI and programmatic interfaces. You will prototype and implement designs in code, contribute to our open-source framework (MooseStack) and commercial hosting platform, and work closely with the founding team, product, and engineering.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive outstanding developer experiences across all product and company touchpoints
- Influence product strategy and advocate for developer users
- Conduct high-velocity product and design discovery and validation with users
- Leverage AI tools to accelerate workflows and focus on differentiated human skills
- Define the product’s aesthetic and interaction design with a clear point of view
- Create flows and rapidly iterate from low- to high-fidelity designs
- Prototype and implement designs in code, building working MVPs and production-ready solutions
- Collaborate with product, engineering, and marketing to shepherd UI/UX/DX decisions to shipped outcomes
- Work on GUI, APIs, CLIs, onboarding, marketing touchpoints, and both open-source and commercial products
Requirements
- 7+ years in a technical-leaning designer role or a design-leaning developer role
- Portfolio demonstrating shipped, beautiful, and intuitive product features
- Strong visual design aesthetic and UI/UX skills; able to create, review, and self-approve designs
- Strong software prototyping skills and experience building end-to-end, scalable, accessible features
- Comfortable and competent with design and development tools, with deep expertise in either domain
- Experience with design systems and component-driven design
- Experience running user-facing discovery and validation
- Very nice-to-have: experience designing or building developer tools
