Role
SoFi is hiring a Product Builder to rapidly convert ideas into validated product opportunities and prototypes for consumer financial experiences. This is an AI-native product leadership role that blends product strategy, hands-on prototyping, and cross-functional partnership to accelerate development while working within regulated constraints.
Key Responsibilities
- Define, develop, and pitch strategic opportunities that improve members’ financial outcomes.
- Build functional prototypes and MVPs inside and outside SoFi’s codebase using AI-native workflows (e.g., Cursor, Replit, v0).
- Partner closely with core engineering and product teams to accelerate roadmaps without creating organizational friction.
- Work with Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Infrastructure to advance AI product development practices in a regulated business.
- Evangelize AI-driven product development and contribute frameworks, knowledge, and skills company-wide.
- Help drive and advocate for the Sandbox program.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in a relevant field.
- 10+ years of experience as a Product Manager or Technical Founder with a proven track record of 0-to-1 initiatives for high-scale consumer products.
- Public or private portfolio of functional projects personally built or contributed to using AI tools.
- Deep experience using LLMs and AI coding tools (vibe-coding) for strategy, requirements gathering, and iterative development.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, APIs, and data systems to ensure performant and secure AI-assisted contributions.
- Experience driving product at highly consumer-driven companies.
Nice to Haves
- Founded or grown a business or side hustle as a product thinker.
- Been the first PM at a small-to-midsized startup.
- Experience driving impact in highly regulated industries (Fintech, Healthtech, etc.).
- Professional background in Design or Engineering.
- Experience with Agentic AI architectures and RAG implementations.
