Job Description
Role
Ally Logistics is hiring a Product Engineer to own problems from concept through production for their proprietary shipper TMS. This is a hybrid product-and-engineering role: you will define requirements, design, build, and ship features with an emphasis on UX, integrations, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and ship high-velocity features for the shipper TMS with a focus on usability, performance, and reliability.
- Translate real-world logistics workflows into intuitive, scalable software customers rely on daily.
- Act as both product manager and engineer—identify opportunities, define requirements, and execute independently.
- Leverage modern development and prototyping tools (e.g., Replit, Cursor, Claude) to rapidly prototype, test, and release functionality.
- Drive UI/UX decisions for web-based tools and integrations.
- Build and maintain integrations with internal systems, carriers, and third-party logistics tools.
- Monitor production systems, identify issues, and proactively improve stability and performance.
- Iterate continuously based on customer feedback, operational insights, and business priorities.
Requirements / Qualifications
- 2+ years of hands-on logistics experience in areas such as freight brokerage, 3PL/4PL, carrier operations, TMS, dispatch, compliance, or operations.
- Proven ability to build and ship full-stack applications using Replit or other vibe coding platforms.
- Experience owning projects independently with minimal oversight and managing the intersection of business and technology.
- Strong understanding of logistics workflows and the ability to translate them into software.
- Ability to work a minimum of 40 hours per week and collaborate with internal stakeholders, including executive leadership.
Key Attributes
- Humble, resourceful, and organized problem-solver.
- Self-led and product-minded; prefers shipping over debating.
- Comfortable making pragmatic technical decisions balancing speed, quality, and long-term scalability.
