Role
HealthBegins is hiring a Product Manager (temporary-to-hire, primarily remote) to advance digital innovation at the intersection of healthcare transformation and health equity. The role reports to the VP of Learning & Innovation and leads strategy, roadmap, and execution for initiatives including the Social Needs Investment Lab, Health Equity Policy Hub, and HealthBegins Academy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive product strategy and roadmap, prepare prioritization recommendations for executive decision-making, and translate vision into product requirements.
- Develop use cases, user stories, and product requirements; partner with developers to ensure technical feasibility and timely delivery.
- Scope, manage, and deliver features on time and within budget; lead feature testing and quality assurance.
- Use human-centered design, participatory design, and lean startup methods for research, prototyping, and product-market fit testing.
- Lead design research and prototyping; partner with consultants and vendors to apply insights to product development.
- Coordinate with internal teams and Program Managers to align timelines, resources, and deliverables across initiatives.
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts; communicate progress, risks, and decisions to stakeholders.
- Use agile methods and product management tools to track progress, risks, and resources and support continuous improvement.
Requirements
- Required experience in Medicaid, public health, and/or health equity–focused systems change.
- Required expertise in human-centered design and lean startup/business modeling methods.
- At least 2 years of progressive product management experience (title not required).
- Proven track record delivering digital products with strong project and vendor management skills.
- Proficiency in analytics, agile methods, and product management tools.
- Strong written and verbal communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work and meet regularly on Pacific Time and willingness to travel occasionally (up to 15%).
- Must be authorized to work in the United States.
Technical Skills & Tools
- Microsoft 365, Google Suite
- Agile/project tools: Rocketlane, Jira, Trello, Asana, Monday, Linear
- CRM / analytics examples: HubSpot, PostHog, Google Analytics, Pendo
- Design / prototyping / no-code / dev tools: Lovable, v0, Replit, Cursor, Claude Code, Figma
- Experience with data dashboards and analytics platforms
Location & Remote
This is a primarily remote position with some in-person meetings and travel; preference is given to candidates based in California, Arizona, Colorado, and Massachusetts. Candidates must be authorized to work in the United States.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary range (temporary-to-hire): $90,000–$120,000 depending on experience.
- If the role transitions to regular full-time, eligibility for an annual bonus and access to HealthBegins’ comprehensive benefits package.
