Purchasing Specialist

Role

LG Electronics Alabama is seeking a Purchasing Specialist to coordinate overseas sourcing of service parts, maintain reliable inventory levels, and manage relationships with international and domestic suppliers. The role supports global procurement operations and leads initiatives to modernize supply chain processes through digital and AI-enabled solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead global sourcing initiatives to ensure timely introduction and availability of LG service parts.
• Manage overseas supplier relationships and coordinate cross-functional activities with engineering, quality assurance, and sales.
• Lead projects to improve supply chain productivity and operational processes, including automation efforts.
• Implement and apply AI-driven demand forecasting and other data-driven procurement practices.
• Support digital transformation initiatives to enable data-driven decision-making and streamlined procurement systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree OR a minimum of 3 years of work experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and data-driven thinking.
• Effective cross-functional communication and collaboration skills in fast-paced teams.
• Interpersonal skills for managing sensitive issues, ambiguity, and organizational change.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Proficiency in Python, SQL, and data visualization tools such as Tableau.
• Experience with modern AI-assisted development approaches (e.g., “vibe coding”).

Preferred

• Bilingual in English and Korean (preferred).
