Role
Quality Engineer on the Optum/UnitedHealth Group team supporting the MA LTSS (Massachusetts Long Term Support Services) solution. The role delivers comprehensive quality assurance across UI and API surfaces for a Salesforce Service Cloud / Community Cloud implementation using a mix of manual testing, automation, and AI-enabled testing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Use AI-assisted tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude, Test.ai) to accelerate test case creation, improve coverage, and reduce manual effort.
- Build and enhance intelligent, self-healing automation frameworks to reduce maintenance and improve stability in dynamic UI and API environments.
- Apply prompt engineering and GenAI techniques to optimize testing workflows and daily tasks.
- Perform hands-on manual testing including system, integration, and regression testing.
- Design, develop, and maintain automation test scripts using Selenium or Playwright with Java and Cucumber (BDD).
- Execute automated test suites and integrate them into CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins.
- Work in an Agile environment and manage test cases, execution, and defect tracking with tools such as Rally or Jira.
- Participate in requirement clarification, defect triage, UAT handovers, and present quality metrics for Go/No-Go decisions.
- Mentor and guide junior QA members on testing best practices, tools, and frameworks.
- Contribute to test strategy, risk assessment, and continuous quality improvement initiatives.
AI Builder Responsibilities
- Use GenAI tools (Copilot, Claude, Gemini AI) to ideate, prototype, and implement features.
- Apply Vibe coding techniques to maintain clean, expressive, AI-augmented codebases.
- Develop internal tools and scripts using AI to automate repetitive tasks and improve productivity.
- Stay current with GenAI trends, tools, and ethical considerations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent practical experience.
- 6+ years of experience in Quality Assurance with a balance of manual and automation testing.
- Solid test scripting experience using Selenium or Playwright with Java and Cucumber (BDD).
- Hands-on experience with bug tracking and test management tools such as Rally or Jira.
- API testing experience with Postman or Insomnia and API automation using Rest Assured.
- Experience integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions and/or Jenkins).
- Familiarity using AI tools (Copilot, Claude, ChatGPT, etc.) for test case creation and automation acceleration.
- Proven expertise in test suite and test case design.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Salesforce applications (Service Cloud, Community Cloud).
- Experience in 508 accessibility testing.
- Experience in healthcare business domains.
